Mia's Story

Mia's story is a little sad. She was adopted as a puppy, but returned for being aggressive with the dog she grew up with. Turns out she wasn't and even did daycare with other dogs for a while. She was heartworm positive when she was returned and went through the slow kill method of treatment. While she waited, she met the most perfect owner. He loved her very much and she was the perfect companion for him, but sadly, he passed and Mia was returned to rescue. Now, as an older girl, she doesn't do well with dogs who have a higher energy. She would do best being the only dog, but will be devoted to the right person. She is mostly a couch potato, but would enjoy going on walks or trips in the truck with just the right person.

Mia is a 7 year old shepherd mix who is crate, house and leash trained. She is calm in the house and loves to sleep in the bed with her person.

Please visit Regard4Life Animal Rescue at Petco in Longview on Saturdays for more information.
