Mia's Story
Meet Mia! Mia is a 6-year-old, spayed Terrier mix with a sweet heart and a playful personality. She loves attention and playtime—and when she’s excited, she can get a little mouthy (using her mouth to communicate like many terriers do). Because of that, Mia is not an ideal match for a home with small children.

Mia is still polishing her potty skills. She tries to tell you when she needs to go out—she may sit by the door or whine—but if her signals are missed, she may have an accident near the door. For this reason, Mia would do best in a house (not an apartment) and with an adopter who can keep a consistent routine and respond quickly to her cues.

Mia also does best with clear boundaries around food. She can be food protective and may growl if someone tries to take her food, or if another pet gets too close to her meals or treats. A home that can feed her separately and practice safe, respectful management around food will help her thrive.

One of Mia’s favorite things is her crate—it’s her safe place where she can rest, relax, and feel secure. With structure, patience, and a calm routine, Mia will be a loving companion for the right home.

Think Mia might be your match?
