Merlin!'s Story

Merlin is a sweet little Terrier mix. His estimated DOB is around 12/2018-12/2020 and currently 7.5 lbs.
Merlin is affectionate, smart, spunky, loyal and medium energy. He becomes quite attached to his people and will happily follow his favorite person around the house and yard most of the day. He truly desires to be a large part of his family’s life and wants to be included in their daily activities. He will occasionally play with other dogs but his favorite thing to do is hang out with his person. He is the ultimate lap dog and enjoys couch time in the evenings.
Merlin is a quick learner and responds well to positive training. He does best with gentle, firm corrections and does not do well with harsh corrections.
Merlin is crate trained but does not enjoy his crate and prefers being with his family. He is housebroken in his foster home and learning to walk politely on a leash.
He currently lives with dogs of various sizes and gets along with them but he seems to prefer the smaller dogs. He also lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them but he will challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. He is an alert barker and enjoys a yard so no apartments for him. Due to his small size and sensitive nature he will need an adult only home. He likely would not do well being left home alone daily for long hours and prefers stay at home people. He would do well with a small, friendly companion dog or as an only dog provided his people are home the majority of the time. Someone who has terrier experience and understands the sensitive, spunky nature of terriers would be ideal.
Merlin is a little sweetheart who is a joy to foster. He is patiently waiting for his forever home.

Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!
