Meet Merlin!<br/><br/>Merlin came to us as a community surrender after being found as a stray. Local shelters were full, so his finder agreed to foster him while our rescue covered his medical care and now works to find him a home. <br/><br/>Merlin is an approximately one-year-old, 40-pound shepherd mix with the loyal heart and sharp mind of a true working breed. He’s smart, eager to please, and happiest when he has a job to do—whether that’s going for walks, playing fetch, or keeping an eye on his people.<br/><br/>He’s crate and potty trained, and learning commands like sit, come, stay, and lay down. His tongue tends to hang out just a little, giving him the most charming “derpy” smile.<br/><br/>Merlin is a sweet and loving boy. He has been living in a home with a toddler and cats and has always been gentle and curious with them, but due to his energy level and breed, his ideal home has older kids only. He has done well meeting other dogs briefly but hasn't had a lot of opportunities to interact with other dogs in his foster home. Merlin would thrive with an active person or family who enjoys outdoor time and daily exercise, and would love a person to teach him more tricks and training.
