He was originally surrendered alongside his canine companion, Izzy, due to allergies in the home. The pair were later adopted together but returned when it became clear they do not do well with other animals—aside from each other.<br/>Mello is a sweet, friendly, and affectionate dog who truly enjoys human companionship. He loves lounging around the house, playing, and spending time with his people. <br/>He does well when left alone for up to 8 hours while confined and is not destructive, though he may chew on items left within reach on the floor.<br/>Mello knows several basic commands, including sit, stay, down, and drop it, and generally responds well to structure and routine. He may suffer from allergies and tends to chew at his feet and paws, but he tolerates baths well.<br/>While Mello is loving with people, he would do best in a calm, experienced home. He has shown some resource guarding behaviors so a home with dog-savvy adults only is recommended.
