Meet Melanie, 19 pounds of angel sweetness! Melanie is 3 month-old, female Border Collie/German Shepherd perfect mix of everything! When she is sweet, shy and cautious, she is "Melanie." When she is tossing her brothers around, she is "Mel." Don't let her size fool you--she is little, but mighty! Melanie is so affectionate and loves to cuddle. She gives gentle kisses and loves to bestow them on her humans and puppy siblings (please see Bear and Ben's separate profiles). Jack's Dog Haven's Adoption Policy

The adoption process begins with an application, the application is reviewed and once approved a meet and greet is set up with potential adopter. Throughout the meet and greet questions are asked and potential adopters are able to meet the dogs they are interested in. After the application is approved, meet and greet goes well a home inspection needs to be passed. Once all steps are appropriately completed, the potential adopter will be approved to adopt and an adoption contract will need to be filled out and signed. The last step is scheduling a time for the adopters to pick up their new family member and all documents pertaining to the dog will be released.

Jack's Dog Haven rescues and rehabilitates urgent dogs from high kill shelters in southern California and rehomes them to loving homes in upstate New York.
