MEGAN's Story
I was transferred to OCAS from another shelter. I'm a sweet gal and I have done well with staff handling me at the shelter. I can be a dog selective, meaning I do well with some dogs but not with others. Like all newly adopted pets, I will need slow, monitored introductions to new people or pets in a home. Visit this page for more information about properly introducing pets. Please consider adopting me, I'm a great dog! Foster notes on Megan: We first stopped by Food Lion to get some canned dog food as a treat. I then drove to my house and she did great in the car just curious and but really wanted to seat beside me in the passenger seat. Megan and I then took a 30 min walk around my neighborhood and within minutes she learned that I didn't like pulling and she responded with some quick corrections and walked by my side. We then came in side and she was curious about my home and just explored room to room and then enjoyed some food. Then we relaxed and she was respectful and did not come on the couch. We then took another walk and she remembered not to pull. Such a sweet, wonderful, intelligent lady! Very smart, a quick learner and doesn't pull on the leash. She is a fully house trained dog and an amazing friend. She came over for a sleepover and had zero accidents, stayed home alone for 4 hours and waited patiently while we prepared her food. She is super trainable in just one day she learned to give her paw, bring her toy and drop it, and to go to her bed. She is super treat motivated but would never jump on a counter to steal food. She loves playing but also sleeps a good amount of time. She would only get on the couch when we invited her over otherwise she would sleep in her bed. She would get on the couch when we were away. She is the cutest pup who is a perfect fit for a home that will give her lots of love! She loves being close to humans and is so mindful of her space. Favorite thing: How fast she learns new commands and that she is very obedient even though she’s young. title=Adopt me.
