She is an energetic, playful, and affectionate dog who is ready to find her forever home.

Megan is approximately 1 year old and came from a Georgia kill shelter and was found as a stray before that. She was adopted but is being returned because she is too much dog for her older adopters. Despite this transition, Megan remains a smart, loving, and eager-to-learn young dog with a lot of potential. She is a black Lab mix and weighs approximately 50 pounds.

Since being in an only-dog home, Megan has lost some confidence when meeting new people and other dogs, especially strangers coming into the home. She was not like this previously, and we think she would do well in a home with another dog and/or an adopter who knows how to help her feel more comfortable. She is getting some help with a professional trainer and her foster so we are eager to see how she improves!

Megan really likes other dogs and loves to play, though she is a strong and enthusiastic player. She loves treats and is eager to learn. She also loves to play fetch and be outside. She would be a great adventure partner.

Like many dogs her age, Megan is still working on some of the basics. She is potty trained and crate trained and continues to work on her leash manners. One of our dedicated volunteers held a fundraiser to cover professional training for Megan and set her on the right track again. We want to set her up for success and give her a solid foundation to build on. With continued structure, socialization, and activity,

Megan will make a wonderful companion.

Megan would do best in an active home with someone willing to continue her training, work on socialization, and take her on regular walks or hikes.

About Megan:
Gender: Female
Age: Approximately 1 year
Weight: Approximately 50 pounds
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Potty Trained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Leash Manners: In progress
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Not Tested
Good with Kids: Not at this time

Megan is looking for a safe, loving home where she can thrive.

Apply to adopt Megan at:
www.muttlife.org
__________

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer, Â vaccinations, and heart worm prevention (age appropriate).

NOTE: THE BREED LISTED FOR EACH DOG IS OUR BEST GUESS WITH THE HELP OF OUR VETERINARIANS. Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old.

**Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
