Meg's Story
Please allow me to introduce myself. I'm Meg, a 50-ish-pound, 12 and 1/2 year old, Yellow Lab beauty. I'm a very special lady, and I'm hoping to find very own special family. You see, I was born to a breeder to be sold, but I had a rare condition called megaesophagus, so I was not sellable. I lived for a year at the vet clinic my breeder took me to. Then, thankfully, an amazing family saved me and gave me a loving home for almost 12 years. Sadly, due to their own poor health, they had to surrender me to Rescue One.

I am such a sweet, gentle, laid-back soul who just desires to have a calm, comfortable home and my very own person (or people) to love for the rest of my days. I don't have to take any meds for my condition, I just need to be fed in my special chair and sit up for 15 minutes after I eat. Easy peasy! Other than that, I am in remarkably good health for my age. I do eat joint mobility food to keep these old joints supple. I get along with other dogs, and I still have a lot of spunk left in me, so a canine playmate would be nice. However, I would be great as an only dog too. I also love kids of all ages. I haven't been around cats, but I bet I would do fine with dog-friendly cats. I don't need a fenced yard, and I do great on a leash, so an apartment would be fine with me (though lot of stairs would not be ideal). I hope you'll fill out an application so we can meet. I just know it will be love at first sight for both of us!

My adoption fee is $75 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip! If you're interested in meeting/adopting me, please visit www.rescueonespringfield.com/our-adoption-process/adoption-application/ and fill out the form! We do adopt out of state with vet references and video home check. *Adopter is responsible for coming to get the dog and returning the dog if the adoption does not work out*

Don't forget to LIKE us on Facebook!-www.facebook.com/rescueonespringfield

*Remember, dogs are pack animals.
