MEEKO's Story
Meeko came to us when his elderly owner could no longer care for him and was relocating to live with family in Tennessee. Meeko is extremely overweight but otherwise healthy. His mother was a white lab and his father a red heeler. Meeko is about 8 y/o and was with the same owner his entire life. Meeko is cautious and is still adjusting but is doing good with other dogs and craves attention. He has not braved moving into the sanctuary yet, and remains in the "quarantine apartment" i.e., the modified garage. He comes into the yard when I'm out but then retreats back to safety. I believe the large pack is too intimidating for him and would love to find a new forever home that is a bit more relaxing for him.<br/>Please call or email to meet Meeko. He will need to continue to be on a diet and getting regular exercise for his long-term health. He continues to become more comfortable and I love to see his tail wag as I come into his little home to visit.
