Meatball's Story

Meatball is a friendly, affectionate guy who is more than ready to roll on out of the rescue and into a home of his own. He has a real zest for life and brings a bright, goofy energy everywhere he goes. His favorite things include tennis balls above all else, squeaky toys, tasty snacks, and stretching out for a good lounge session. He genuinely enjoys people and seeks out affection whenever he can.
We recommend that he be the only dog in his home. He can be a bit protective of items he considers high value, especially tennis balls, so a home that can help him navigate that with structure and consistency will set him up for success. With time, training, and comfortability he may be capable of being around other dogs but he's currently showing us that it can be overwhelming for him to interact with others.
This handsome hunk has so much personality and heart. He’s going to make a fantastic companion for someone who appreciates a fun loving dog with a whole lot of charm.

Weight: 60 pounds
Age:2 years
Other Dogs: No other dogs in home for now. Needs time, training, and decompressing time.
Cats: No
Kids: 16+
Home Type: semi-active home
Leash Behavior: Walks fairly well on leash, is a strong boy so he is capable of pulling at times but typically walks well.
Commands: "sit" - He knows his name.

If you are interested in adopting Meatball please fill out our online application at highsierraanimalrescue.org. Once your application has been reviewed and approved we will work with you to schedule an appointment.
Please no "drop-ins" to view dogs without an appointment.
All High Sierra Animal Rescue dogs are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate shots, micro-chipped, tested for heart worm, given heart worm preventative medication each month, and de-wormed.
