Meadow's Story
Welcome to rescue, Meadow!
Meadow is a nearly 2-year-old Newfoundland currently in foster care in New Jersey.

Now that she's settled in, Meadow is beginning to show who she really is. Once she trusts you and feels safe, she is deeply affectionate and bonds closely with her people. She believes climbing into bed for morning kisses is the best way to start the day. She enjoys playing with visitor canine buddies and watching squirrels go by from her perch by the window inside. She does love to chase small mammals, so a cat-free household is best.

Meadow is a thoughtful, sensitive girl who prefers to take things at her own pace. She can be shy with new people and unfamiliar situations, especially when things feel loud or unpredictable, and she does best with calm, patient humans who give her time, clear guidance, and plenty of positive reinforcement (hot dog slices are a big hit!). She is working on her leash skills and continues to gain confidence with steady, low-pressure outings. A private fenced yard is ideal for Meadow so she can relax outside without any stress.

Meadow would thrive in a home that values routine, consistency, and gentle leadership, and that understands the needs of a smart, working-breed dog. She is best suited for a calmer household that can be mindful of managing new situations and helping her feel secure.

Because Meadow is still learning and growing, her foster and trainers have gathered helpful insights about what helps her succeed. Additional information about Meadow's needs, training plan, and ideal home will be discussed in detail during the adopter interview process to ensure the best possible match for both Meadow and her future family.

If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion and are willing to invest in a relationship built on trust, structure, and teamwork, Meadow may be the perfect fit.

** Want to send this dog a gift? When you purchase a bib or bandana from our store with the code 4FOSTER they will receive it. The rescue receives the profit from the sale and the foster dog receives a gift!

When purchasing for a specific dog, please include that note in the comments.

Or, purchase one for yourself!

Link for Bibs

https://nationalnewfoundlandrescue.com/product-category/bib/

Link for Bandanas

https://nationalnewfoundlandrescue.com/product-category/bandanas/
