Meet McKinley! 1 yr old Terrier mix <br/><br/>McKinley’s story is one we’re seeing far too often here in the Central Valley. She was found running the streets until a kind Samaritan stepped in to help. Found reports were filed and local shelters were contacted, but sadly no one came forward to claim her. That’s when ARF stepped in to give her the second chance she deserves — a loving, forever home.<br/><br/>McKinley is estimated to be about 1 year old and appears to be a wire terrier mix. She is young, full of life, and has lots of energy. If you’re looking for a couch potato / lap dog, she’s probably not your girl. But if you’re looking for a fun, active companion who loves to run and play, McKinley might be your perfect match!<br/><br/>She gets along well with dogs her size or smaller and would enjoy having a canine playmate. Bedtime can be her least favorite time of day — she’d much rather keep the party going! Her enthusiasm and zest for life mean she’ll thrive with a family committed to providing daily exercise, structure, and continued training.<br/><br/>Because we don’t know how she ended up on her own, we want to ensure she never has that opportunity again. McKinley will need:<br/><br/>A secure backyard (especially along the bottom of fencing where she could potentially squeeze out)<br/><br/>A family who is mindful about doors and gates<br/><br/>Ongoing obedience training (which she would likely excel at!)<br/><br/>She’s not a “bad” dog — she’s a young, energetic terrier who needs guidance, consistency, and an outlet for her energy.
