McGregor's Story

NO APARTMENTS Please!

Meet McGregor! This 11 week old Malinois -mix brings the focus, drive and swagger that his name implies. This guy has boundless energy and a serious work ethic. He's always ready for a game of tug-of-war, a sprint in the yard, or a rigorous training session. But beneath the tough exterior, he's a true champ with a loving, loyal heart who wants to lay on your feet and have a good snooze.

Highlights:

Sleep superstar — When its time for bed, I sleep through the night and politely let you know if I need a potty break, which, if I can brag, hardly happens.

Potty training - I got that down pat

Kennel – I practically put myself to bed (no for real, I love to take naps there if my foster's feet aren't available)

Social — I love playing and taking walks with my foster sisters and respond well when I get a little too energetic and they have to correct me. I even share my food bowl when they come to investigate. I'm also pretty good with the cats, but have to admit, if they run I might give a little chase, so I'm probably best in a house with “dog-savvy” cats who don't mind my occasional puppy antics.

Steady temperament — Dogs barking, loud noises, chaos, I roll with it.

Entertainment – While I love interaction, throw some balls, chew toys and squeakers on the floor and I can entertain myself and even though I am a “maligator”, my foster has been impressed that I never rip up stuffies.

Health - While I was previously noted as having a potential eyesight issue, I rocked my recent vet visit and was given a clean bill of health!!

If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website and complete an adoption application at www.elpasocountycanine.org/adopt

Please bear with us as we process applications! We are working on changing our processes to function during the COVID-19 outbreak. We have had a big increase in people wanting to adopt (yay!) so it's taking us a bit of time to get through the applications. We work on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must apply for adoption before you will be able to meet with a pup. If you meet with a dog and decide to adopt, we can process your adoption right then and you can go home with your new family member! Thank you for adopting from us and saving our sweet dogs!
