McGee's Story

At 3 years and 9 months old, McGee is a gentle, big-hearted guy who just needs a little time to feel safe. He can be timid at first, especially with loud or sudden noises (they make him a bit nervous), but once he realizes you're a friend, he warms up beautifully.

McGee has lived with other dogs and seems to be a dog-social kind of guy. We're still learning more about his play style and preferences, but he's shown positive interest so far. A calm canine companion could be a great match for him.

His previous owner described him as laid back in the home. When he trusts you, he's incredibly sweet and affectionate. He's what we lovingly call a "leaner." Once you're in his circle, he'll gently press his big body against you for comfort and connection. It's his quiet way of saying, "You're my person."

He prefers booty scratches over head pats (especially at first), and he'll let you know what he likes with those very expressive ears. They stick out like little fortune cookies and somehow say everything he's thinking.

McGee has never been around kids, so slow introductions and respectful interactions would be important. With patience, reassurance, and a calm home, this sensitive soul will absolutely blossom.
