Personality:

Mayito can be summed up in one sentence: he never stops smiling. He is the sweetest boy you will ever meet, and was described by someone today as "the dog your inner child always wanted". He is curious and wants to be included in all your activities, will throw his whole body into your lap for cuddles and is just all around the happiest and most easy going boy. He loves to spend his day by your side cuddling, exploring good sniffs in the neighbourhood, melting the heart of everyone he meets and playing fetch in the hall. He shows his excitement by jumping up on his hind legs or chasing his own tail. He is curious but respectful of other dogs and respects his foster’s resident dog when she asks for space.


Ideal Home:

Due to Mayito’s incredibly easy going nature he would do well in almost any environment. Currently living in a downtown condo with no issues, as long as he has plenty of access to green space and regular walks, he handles downtown life like a pro. He would do well in a home with other pets or as a solo dog and while he is not kid tested, would probably do well with older dog savvy children. As long as he has a home with a family who are willing to give him the love, affection and attention he craves and include him in their daily lives while ensuring he gets his mandatory daily cuddle sessions he will thrive.


Training/Activity:

Mayito is fully house and crate trained, sleeping peacefully through the night and when his foster leaves the house. He can be picky with food, and at the moment is only accepting raw food, so training can be more difficult. He may be harder to train in classic obedience for this reason, including sit and recall, but he is naturally responsive to a verbal "uh uh" if he needs redirection. He is medium energy and gets very excited for his two 45 min walks and a fetch session each day.


Summary:

Mayito is never seen without a smile on his face! Seriously - just look at his photos! He is the happiest lovebug around and really just wants to give and receive love. His favourite things include walks and cuddles and he will throw his whole body into a cuddle when meeting new people.
