Mayberry

Mayberry is a 6-year-old German Shepherd who loves to learn new tricks and tasks! She is a very fast learner, especially when given cheese, but she can be persuaded with almost any treat. But be prepared--she will show her appreciation through lots of kisses.<br/><br/>Mayberry is house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping in her crate at night and when home alone. She isn't too much of a barker, and when lounging around or in the kennel, Mayberry will chew on hard bones for hours. She is cautious around strangers and takes a little bit to warm up to you. But once she gets to know you, she'll be stuck on you like glue.<br/><br/>In her future home, Mayberry will need a a family who does not have other pets. She hasn't been around children yet, but she will need a home with dog-savvy children at least 13 years old and up who can respect her boundaries.<br/><br/>Mayberry enjoys going for walks and getting to smell everything along the way. We're working on leash manners and she is doing well so far. She's extremely playful and loves to run around in the backyard and play fetch for as long as you can throw. Her favorite toys to play with are frisbees, squeaky toys and plush animals. <br/><br/>Mayberry has a high prey drive so a fenced yard will be required while she's in training. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
