Maya (Partial Adopt Fee Sponsor)'s Story
Meet Maya! (Maya has generous donation of $100 towards her adoption fee).

Maya is a 5-year-old mixed breed sweetheart weighing about 46 pounds, though she still needs to gain a little weight. If you're looking for a loving companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Maya might just be your perfect match!

This low-energy girl is happiest curled up next to her people, soaking up all the pets and attention she can get. In fact, Maya is convinced she's a lap dog and honestly, we don't have the heart to tell her otherwise! She loves snuggling, enjoys going for walks, and is always happy to play with her toys.

Maya is house trained and walks nicely on a leash. While she isn't a fan of crates and has become quite the escape artist, she does wonderfully when left in a dog-proof room where she can relax comfortably.

She is incredibly friendly and loves everyone she meets, including strangers. Maya absolutely adores children and would thrive in a family home where she can be showered with love and attention.

Maya currently does well with her puppies and a smaller foster brother.

Maya has done well living with other dogs, but benefits from slow, respectful introductions. She appreciates dogs that give her space while she settles in and may take a little time to warm up to more energetic companions. In her previous foster home, she became playful and enjoyed roughhousing with a larger female dog once she was comfortable. Since being reunited with her puppies, she has been a bit more protective, so thoughtful introductions are important. With patience and proper management, Maya has shown that she can thrive in a home with other dogs.

A secure home is important for Maya. She will need a yard with a 6-foot fence, as she is athletic enough to jump over shorter fences.

Maya is spayed and ready for her forever family. She is also heartworm positive, which sounds scary but truly isn't. Heartworm is not contagious to other dogs, and treatment is very manageable. Maya will need a few months of treatment along with some activity restrictions during that time and the rescue will cover the cost of her treatment.

Maya has so much love to give and is patiently waiting for a family who will give her the safe, loving home she deserves. Could that be you?

Apply to adopt at: https://www.woofanimalrescue.org/adopt

This dog is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. Please note that we cannot hold dogs for any reason.

Please only apply if you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into your home within five days of approval.

Breed and Age Information: Unless the puppy was born in our care, we cannot guarantee the breed or age. Breed and age estimates are based on veterinary advice, shelter records, physical appearance, and information provided by previous owners.

The adoption fee includes:

Microchip registered to 24 Pet Watch for free

DHPP Vaccine series

Bordetella Vaccine

Leptospirosis Vaccine series

Rabies vaccine

4DX Heartworm test (7 months of age or older)

Spay/Neuter (performed at one of our partner veterinarians as scheduled by the rescue)

General wellness care (includes deworming, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention)

For adoption questions, you can submit inquiries to woof.adoptions@gmail.com

Thank you for considering adoption and helping give rescue dogs a second chance!
