Maya's Story

Maya
Labrador Retriever Mix.
10 months, Female, Medium

Maya is a sweet, sensitive girl who prefers slow introductions and likes to approach people on her own terms. Once she trusts you, she becomes the snuggliest little shadow.

She loves: peanut-butter Kongs, snow, other dogs (huge yes!), kids, car rides, baths, cozy crates, and watching the world from a windowsill.

She’s not a fan of: fast introductions, loud noises, men rushing up to her, big vehicles, or being pushed on leash when she’s scared.

Maya can be nervous with buses, garbage trucks, and sudden sounds, but she’s improving every day with calm handling. She also needs a secure harness, as she may try to back out if spooked.

Maya will thrive in a patient, gentle home that lets her warm up slowly. With other dogs and kids, she shines — and once she feels safe, she’s loyal, cuddly, and absolutely precious.
