Maya's Story

Meet Maya! Our little kangaroo with the perky ears!

Maya is a petite mixed breed girl with alert ears, a longer body, and a whole lot of personality packed into her 18 pound frame! She’s one of those dogs who looks bigger in photos than she actually is. Maya is thought to be around 8 years old.

What’s in her family tree? That’s anyone’s guess! Maybe a little Corgi, Dachshund, Kelpie, or some other perky eared cutie. Whatever the mix, Maya definitely got the memo about being cute.

Maya is good with other dogs and has fallen head over heels for her foster mom. She’s also discovered her inner kangaroo and can jump around like she has springs for legs! Watch your bread on the counter!

She has done well in a crate, although her foster mom isn’t currently crating her. She’s also curious about cats and likes to pester the resident kitty. We haven’t seen any aggression, but her enthusiasm may be a little much for a cat who prefers a more peaceful existence.

Maya is looking for a family who will love her quirky little ways, appreciate her adorable ears, and be ready for a few surprise kangaroo hops along the way!

Maya is spayed, current on vaccines and prevention and is microchipped. She also just had a dental. Her adoption fee is $300. To meet her, please submit an application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. As a reminder, we are not a shelter location and require a scheduled meet and greet.

Adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.
