Maya's Story

Hi my name is Maya and I am 6 months old and came in as a stray on 11-18-25.

I am DEAF! but a very sweet girl. I am a typical mouthy puppy so I will need someone who is patient and can work through that with me with positive reinforcement because I cannot hear you. I am good with dogs and cats but can't hear when another animal says they have had enough play so living with other tolerant or playful animals would be best.
I am halfway potty trained and I am crate trained and do very well. Please call the shelter today if you would like to meet me.

Montgomery County SPCA's Adoption Policy
At the Montgomery County SPCA, we are dedicated to finding responsible, forever homes for all the pets in our care. To that end, we have created a thorough adoption process which helps us achieve this goal. This process includes a check of veterinary history records on any pets you currently have, and a home visit. If you rent your home, we require written proof (letter or lease) from your landlord that you are allowed to have pets. We undertake this kind of thorough review to ensure that animals who have already been discarded at least once will never have to experience this again.
