Update: Max has had surgery to correct his cherry eye. He is more than ready to begin living the good life! <br/>Maximillian, affectionately known as Max, didn’t have the best start in life, but he’s hoping to find a happier next chapter with the help of NCCR. Arriving on 7/12/25, little Max believes that no matter how old or how young you may be, it’s always the right time to make a new beginning! At just 5 months old, and unfortunately malnourished and with a cherry eye, now is exactly the right time for a brighter future to begin for this little pup. He spent some time with a few other dogs before making his way to the shelter, and would love to find a home with another dog buddy or two – everything is better when shared with friends, right? As a young pup, Max’s list of must-haves isn’t very long, but right near the top of the list and 2nd most important (two square meals a day and lots of treats are number 1!) is a family who will love him and be patient with him while he learns everything he needs to know about being a cherished forever family member. (And no need to worry! All of his medical needs and neutering will be taken care of prior to adoption!) If you have the time, energy, patience, and love to share and can promise him a lifetime of kindness & affection, Maximillian can’t wait to meet you!<br/>If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application found at caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email your question to adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day.<br/><br/>We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.<br/><br/>*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them.
