Max- Scared and Sad :('s Story

Max is an 11-year-old terrier with a gentle soul and a story that has shaped his tender heart. After losing his beloved owner, Max is understandably a bit timid—he’s been through a lot and is still learning to feel safe again in a world that suddenly changed.

Despite his shyness, there’s something incredibly special about Max. He forms deep bonds and, once he trusts you, his quiet loyalty and love are truly unforgettable. He misses the comfort of his old life, but with patience and kindness, he’s ready to open his heart again.

Max is looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can settle in at his own pace. He needs someone who understands that love sometimes takes time—but is so worth the wait. With the right person, Max will blossom, and the moment you see him relax and feel safe, your heart will absolutely melt.

Give him that chance, and you won’t just be giving him a home—you’ll be gaining a best friend forever. We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support.
