Max's Story
Meet Max-a true warrior with an endless spirit! Rescued from the streets of Mexico severely malnourished and surviving on dirt, Max is proving every single day how resilient a rescue pup can be.

This brave 6-year-old, 64-pound boy is on the road to recovery, but he still has a few hurdles ahead. Max is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments for TVT, which means his appetite-and weight-will ebb and flow. He also manages kidney disease, requiring a special lifelong diet, and will likely need ACL surgery down the road due to his tough past.

Because his medical needs are significant, Max is officially an Amazing Grey! This means his forever family will have ongoing financial and medical support from our rescue. You bring the love; we'll help handle the rest.

Despite everything he's been through, Max's fun, goofy personality shines bright:
The Fun Stuff: He loves going for walks, riding in the car, and showing off his playful side.
The Quirks: He's a bit protective of his toys and food (understandably!), and he's a curious trickster who will happily take a "walk on the wild side" if an open door presents itself!
Home Match: Max would do best in a home with a yard, older respectful kids, and no cats. He'd love a calm, docile dog companion to show him the ropes!

Max has fought so hard to get to where he is today. He just needs a loving home to show him he never has to fight again. Could Max be the missing piece to your family?
Apply to meet Max today!
