Max's Story
MAX HERE — CEO OF LAP SITTING & PROFESSIONAL ESCAPE ARTISTRY!

Hi. I’m Max. I’m 2 years old, 12.2 pounds, and frankly, I think I’m a pretty big deal.

I have recently learned that humans like to put dogs in something called a “crate.” I have also learned that I absolutely, positively, 100% disagree with this concept. I have advanced escape-artist skills. Houdini who? I’ve decided crates are much more appropriately used for treats and toys .

But you know what I DO love? BEDTIME! I sleep all night snuggled right up next to my foster mama like the perfect little gentleman. Because obviously, why would I sleep in a crate when there is a perfectly good human available for snuggling?

During the day, I’m basically a corporate executive. My foster mama works, and I attend all of her meetings from the comfort of her lap. I take my job very seriously. Her coworkers absolutely love me. I’m pretty sure I could have my own corner office if they’d just give me a chance.

And then there are my ears.

MY. EARS.

My foster mama is obsessed with them and has to physically restrain herself from putting them in tiny ponytails. I personally think they make me look distinguished.

I can be a little nervous when I’m unsure about something. When I get nervous, I sometimes have a potty accident, so I’m still working on my house manners. I’ve learned that looking at the door is a pretty good way to tell my humans I need to go outside, so I’m getting there!

I LOVE going for walks! Just one tiny request: please don’t introduce me to other dogs . I get VERY worked up around other dogs. A home where I can be your one and only dog is best for me.

People, though? PEOPLE ARE GREAT.

I met a little girl next door and immediately became a tail-wagging fan. I also love getting attention from humans wherever I go. I’d do best in a home with adults or respectful older kids 12+ who can give me the space I need.

I’m looking for a forever home where someone is around often because I’m not a huge fan of being left alone. I have some separation anxiety and need a family willing to help me feel safe and secure.

I’m also still learning my manners around treats, so my foster family makes sure treats are given safely and separately. I’m totally happy being petted while I eat my regular food—I just have some treat-related lessons to finish up.

So, let’s recap:

Ridiculously adorable ears
12.2 pounds of personality
Respectful children age 12+
Professional work-from-home lap assistant
Expert human-bed snuggler
Toy enthusiast
Learning my potty manners
Prefer to be your ONLY dog
Looking for a home where someone is around often

So if you’re looking for a little guy with giant ears, a giant personality, and a giant capacity for love, I might just be your guy.

I’ll bring the ears. You bring the lap.

— Love,
Max
