Max's Story

Max is a healthy 13-year-old with a sad, lonely past, and he's ready for a future full of companionship. Max was a backyard dog, then he was surrendered to a shelter where he was in danger, and now he lives in a boarding kennel. Despite his tough life, Max is a happy guy. He takes just a little time to warm up to new people, and then he is a good friend. He likes being with his person, but he's also fine by himself. He loves tennis balls, watching for squirrels and lizards, hanging out on the couch or in the kitchen, and splashing in any kind of water.

Max needs to be an only pet, and he's such good company, he's the only pet you'll need. He would like a home with a fenced yard, please, and someone who has a soft spot for a senior dog who is ready to retire in comfort.

Interested in adopting or fostering?
**We are no longer placing dogs for adoption in apartments. Final Frontier Rescue Project's Adoption Policy
Our goal is to make good matches of dogs, people, and home environments. Our application and screening process may feel onerous, but we want lifetime matches, and if it does not work out, we take our dogs back, so we do our best to prevent that! We are all volunteers and we will respond to your inquiry or application as soon as we can, usually within 1-2 days. If none of our dogs is a good fit, we encourage responsible adopters to visit their local shelter to foster or adopt.
