She had been caring for him but wanted to ensure he had the best chance at a permanent placement while she continued helping more dogs in need.<br/><br/>Max is an approximately 2-year-old Heeler mix who has made tremendous progress in foster care. While he can be a little reserved when meeting new people, he quickly shows his true personality once he realizes he's safe. Give him a day or two, and you'll discover a playful, happy companion who loves being around his people.<br/><br/>Max enjoys playing with other dogs, chewing on bones, carrying around squeaky toys, and soaking up attention. One of his favorite things is being brushed, and he happily leans in for pets and affection. He tends to form a particularly strong bond with one person, but he enjoys the company of the whole family once he's comfortable.<br/><br/>He is potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Max comes when called by name and is currently working on mastering "sit." He does great with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion. Cats don't bother him muchin fact, he's usually the one giving them space.<br/><br/>Max is looking for a family that understands that not every dog shows their personality immediately. He may be a little cautious at first, but once he settles in, he's affectionate, playful, and eager to be part of whatever his people are doing.<br/><br/>Max is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, on monthly preventative, dewormed, and microchipped.
