Max's Story
Max is a 6 year old weim who loves to push his way into every aspect of his humans lives. He knows what he want’s and will sweetly and stubbornly push boundaries to achieve his desires. He will be your living shadow wherever you go! He loves long walks, going on car rides and walking the local hardware stores to get extra attention and affection. Max is very food motivated and tends to gulp down food so fast it actually fly’s around like little projectiles, so a food puzzle bowl works great to help him enjoy his meal at a safer consumption rate. He knows how to sit, stay, and lay although when treats are the reward, he often gets so excited he losses all sense of common sense! It helps he loves to cuddle and has a sweet disposition.

Max gets along with cats but tends to eat any and all house plants. He can be left at large while you are at work or away on errands. He will need a fence as he loves to gallop about on his own, often forcing his human to tackle him or shake a bag of high value treats to get him to come close enough to grab his collar. Although he is deeply devoted to his humans he also likes to run free and explore the world.

Max gets along with and likes to play other dogs large or small but has a tendency to resource guard toys and food when nervous. Max has made significant progress within the rescue and at his current foster home he and the resident dog can have toys lying about with no issues. With work and consistency, he will acclimate to his future home and continue to learn to share. He lets humans large and small play with his toys and take his food.

Max is fostered in the Des Moines Metro and his adoption fee is $250

If you are a pushover, you need not apply because Max will literally push-you-over. If you can provide Max with structure, consistency, and boundaries he will thrive, but otherwise you’ll have an 80 lb gray brat on your hands.

Apply at www.iowaweimrescue.org.
