Max's Story
Meet Max, an almost 14-year-young beagle (29 lbs) with a gentle soul, velvety ears, and a heart that just wants to be near his people. Thanks to a generous sponsor, his adoption fee has been covered!
He's potty trained, wonderfully calm, sleeps in his kennel all night, and makes the perfect work-from-home companion or cozy couch buddy.
Max adores adults and respectful kids, loves sniffy walks and backyard exploring, and will happily trade carrots, peanut butter, or Milk-Bones for affection.
True to his beagle roots, he follows his nose on leash and appreciates a harness, but his overall vibe is quiet, easy, and low-maintenance.
He's happiest as an only dog but is submissive and gentle, and he does best in a home where someone is around most of the day. He can occasionally guard paper products and plush toys, with basic management and boundaries, this is easy to prevent.
If you're looking for a sweet, steady senior who will reward you with belly-up mornings and loyal companionship, Max is ready to give you his whole heart.

Potty-Trained: Yes
Does this animal require medications or a special diet? Taking Benadryl for itchiness at times.
Medical concerns: He has had seizures in the past, has had one since in foster care.
Behavior towards adults: Great
Behavior towards children: Prefer older considerate children
Behavior towards other dogs: Submissive
Behavior towards cats: is unsure, very nervous around them
Crate-trained: Yes
Stairs: Great

As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)

Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.

$50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.

Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.

Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.

Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!
