Max's Story

Max is a 1-1/2 year old chihuahua mix. Max is housebroken, walks great on a leash, is obedient, loves to play and given the appropriate time, he is a great companion.

Max was adopted out from our rescue as a puppy. Unfortunately, he was never properly socialized with anyone outside his circle (the elderly gentleman and his children) so he is very shy and reserved when he first meets you. Max may take up to two weeks to become familiar with his new foster/owner and in that time he will be very skittish and scared. New adventures frighten him at first...but once he becomes accustomed to his new life, new people and new surroundings he flourishes.

So, because of his apprehensiveness he will only be adopted to someone who is willing to put in the time. Someone who does not expect an instant love muffin but instead is willing to give him his space and as much time as needed to make HIM feel comfortable. I know that is like finding a needle in a haystack...but I know you are out there somewhere!
