He loves a good lazy evening as much as the next dog, but he also needs space to run, explore, and burn off that young-dog energy. Think fenced-in yard, firepit nights, hiking trails, woods walks, and a best friend who likes fresh air as much as he does.<br/><br/>He bonds hard to his person - the kind of dog who wants to be your shadow, your sidekick, your ride-or-die. Because of his strength and enthusiasm, he'd do best with a younger, active owner, preferably someone who wants a loyal companion for outdoor living and everyday life.<br/><br/>No cats for this guy - Maverick has a bit of a prey drive and thinks small furry things are... very interesting.<br/><br/>What breaks our hearts is that Maverick has now been in animal welfare kennels in Texas, New York, and Connecticut, and he still hasn't found his real home. He's not broken. He's not bad.<br/>He just hasn't met his person yet.<br/><br/>And when he does?
