Maui's Story

There's a quiet sweetness about Maui that reveals itself in small, meaningful ways. You'll notice how she lingers nearby, watching gently from a safe distance at first—then, over time, choosing to come closer, resting near your feet as if she's decided you're her person. Earning her trust feels special, because it is.

In her foster home, she's been learning the rhythm of a calm, loving life, often taking her cues from the other dogs. You'll love how she finds comfort in their presence, slowly stepping into her confidence as she follows their lead around the house and yard. As a Shepherd for adoption, she carries that thoughtful, observant nature—taking everything in, processing, and then leaning in when she feels safe. She doesn't demand attention, but when she offers her affection, it's genuine and deeply felt.

Maui is a rescue dog available in Texas and via transport outside of Texas, and she's looking for a patient, peaceful home where she can continue to blossom at her own pace. If you're hoping to adopt a rescue dog near Austin who will form a quiet, meaningful bond, she may be exactly the companion you've been waiting for. Addicus' Legacy Dog Rescue is helping her find the kind of home where she can truly thrive.

Maui is available for transport to the Vernon, CT area, serving adopters throughout Connecticut, Vermont, and southern New Hampshire. Pickup logistics are arranged at adoption.

Ready to adopt Maui? Click Apply on this listing to submit your adoption application through ShelterLuv. Addicus Legacy Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
We do our best to include as much information as possible about each dog in their Petfinder profile and on our website. For more detailed questions, we’re happy to connect you directly with the foster—this is the best way to learn about a dog’s personality, routine, and needs. To be connected with a foster, we ask that you first complete an adoption application on our website. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee adoption. We often receive multiple applications for the same dog. While we generally review applications in the order they are received, our priority is making the best possible match for both the dog and the adopter.
