Mateo's Story

Little Mateo is a tiny warrior with the biggest heart! This resilient 1-year-old Chihuahua mix has been through quite a journey after being rescued after being hit by a car. After a successful surgery to reconstruct his knee, he’s still learning that it’s okay to put his weight on it again. You’ll occasionally see him doing a signature "hop," but every day he gains more confidence and realizes the pain is a thing of the past!

Don’t let his recovery fool you—Mateo is a professional at the game of keep-away! He loves to grab his favorite toy and proudly lead you on a happy chase all over the house. He gets along with humans and dogs of all sizes (though he’s still a mystery when it comes to cats). Since he’s still a young pup at heart, he’ll need a patient family to continue his guidance with potty, kennel, and leash training.

Mateo is fully neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all his vaccines, making him more than ready to find his forever lap!

Please complete an adoption application at www.pathwaysforpaws.com. If he fits your family and lifestyle, you will be contacted within 48 hours.
