Masey's Story

*Masey is a manager approval adoption. She can only be adopted Tuesday-Friday from 1 to 4PM - but she is still available to meet on the weekends! Please contact us with any questions.**

Meet Masey - The Town Explorer!
Masey is a 3 year old female German Shepherd who became a bit of a local legend for her adventurous spirit and tendency to explore beyond her home.
She was surrendered due to her history of running off, but the truth is, Masey wasn't trying to leave- she just hasn't had the structure and security she needs to stay. Her previous owner says he doesn't think she would run away on her own, as she only did it with their other dog. However we think it’s best the next home does not risk that.
As a puppy, Masey was sadly hit by a car while roaming. This led to a broken leg that was not properly cared for. Once she was surrendered, our vet thought it was best to amputate the leg so Masey would not have to deal with the pain anymore. She is already doing SO much better, and we can tell it is a weight off of her shoulders! Masey doesn't let being a tri-pod slow her down, and is still so incredibly loving and playful.
Masey is incredibly sweet and girl and just wants to be by your side. She lived outdoors her whole life on a farm and does well with other dogs, livestock, and children. She has not yet been introduced to cats, though. As always, we recommend a meet and greet with all family members (human and animals) in the home prior to adoption to make sure it’s a good fit.
Because of her history of wandering, Masey will require a secure and committed home that can provide proper containment home and supervision to keep her safe and away from risks of getting injured again. She will absolutely need a fenced in yard to ensure she's not getting hurt again when it can easily be avoided. She is not a dog that can free roam, but with the right structure, patience, and companionship, she has so much love to give! Don't make Masey wait any longer for a home that will finally love her like she deserves - come out and meet her today!
