Mary Jane's Story

Dog Name: Mary Jane
Age: 2-4
Gender: Female
Breed: Pit mix
Weight: 52lbs
Crate trained: Yes
Potty trained: Yes
Dog friendly: No
Cat friendly: No
Kid friendly: Likely
Vaccinated: Yes
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Heartworm: Negative
Microchipped: Yes

MJ is basically the goofiest little thing and would make the best lifetime companion. She’s tiny but somehow has an endless supply of zoomies, and she doesn’t really care where she is, living room, hallway, kitchen, she’ll just take off like it’s a racetrack (Scoobie Doo style). Half the time she adds in these wild parkour moves, like bouncing off the couch or launching herself off a chair, and I swear she’s proud of it.

Outside, she’s obsessed with chasing squirrels (zero squirrels have been caught, but don’t tell her that). Inside, we’ve been working on tricks, she’s sloooowly learning “down” and “paw,” and when she finally does it right she gets this smug little look like, yes, she’s a genius. The funniest thing is how demanding she is about getting attention. If you sit down anywhere near her, she crawls right into your lap, no hesitation, and starts pawing at you until you pet her… and sometimes she’ll just straight-up smack you in the face with her paw like, hello, excuse me, love me now. She’s ridiculous and funny and sweet and anyone would be lucky to have her.

She walks well on leash but can get overstimulated in a busy area. MJ’s perfect home with be in a residential area and a fenced yard.

If you’re interested in meeting MJ, please fill out an application at the link below.

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DHDN/Dog
