Marvin's Story

Marvin is a sweet, mellow little guy who just wants a cozy lap and a kind heart to call his own. We rescued him from the San Bernardino Shelter, where he arrived as a stray with a few wounds, including a painful foxtail embedded in his paw. Since then, he's healed up beautifully and is ready for the next chapter of his life.

Marvin can be shy when meeting new people, but once he feels safe, he melts into affection and loves to snuggle. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company.

Like many dogs with a rough start, Marvin is still learning to feel fully secure. He can be sensitive around high-value items and may guard them, which is something a patient adopter can work on with the support of a positive-reinforcement trainer. Because of this, Marvin would do best in an adult-only home with someone experienced or willing to learn how to support him as he continues to build confidence. He has a bite history, which we're happy to discuss in more detail with interested adopters -- transparency is important to us, and we believe Marvin deserves a chance with someone who understands his needs.

He's also managing some skin allergies and is on medication that's been helping him feel much more comfortable.

Marvin is a good boy who's come a long way. He just needs the right match -- someone kind, patient, and ready to let him shine.
