Marty<br/><br/>Joined rescue 02/06/2026<br/><br/>Please join us in welcoming MARTY who joined our rescue from our great friends over at Sable Animal Control!! He was sadly returned to them after his last adopters decided he was no longer a fit. He’s 15lbs of quirky terrier traits and vocally growls to talk so he’s not a one size fits all but we feel we can totally match him to one of you!! I met him yesterday and he’s a funny character with lil jumping bean legs and a huge heart<br/><br/>Marty is a 2 year old male typical vibrant Terrier mix. We think he’s a perfect mix of JRT, Beagle and maybe some Corgi. Whatever it is, he’s cute as a button and fiesty as can be. He’s got an adorable slight underbite and hairy chinny chin. He’s in a foster home where he loves to zoom around the house and boss the other dogs around. He’s been around small children and he did ok but he gets mouthy when anything or anybody moves too fast so we recommend either no kids or older kids for Marty. He’s not been cat tested. <br/>Marty gets attached really quickly and his heart was broken when his previous owner returned him. It took him a week to feel comfortable and start to relax in his foster home. We want to be confident that Marty’s new owner is prepared to keep him forever. We don’t want to see Marty get his heart broken again. <br/>He’d love someone who’s active and likes to take long walks. He enjoys riding in the car and playing out in the snow. He is a bit bossy and will let you know what he wants. He definitely knows how to use his voice. Barking and grumbling is his love language. He loves to play and be chased around the house. He loves to give kisses and get a nice rub down. He’s housebroken and sleeps in his crate in the bedroom along side his people. He does go in the crate when he’s left alone.
