Marty's Story

This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas or in the North / Central Texas area.

NAME: Marty
GENDER: Male (Neutered)
AGE: About 4 years old
WEIGHT: About 9.5 Pounds
DOGS/CATS: Gets along with other small dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: Should be fine with older, mature children (8 and older)

Meet Marty!

Marty is a sweet little guy with a wonderful temperament and a calm, easy going personality. Hes fairly quiet around the house, but he does have one adorable way of letting you know what he wants—a tiny bark that seems to say, Pick me up! He absolutely loves being carried and is happiest when hes close to his people.

Martys story began in Arlington, Texas, where he was found as a stray with no identification. The shelter placed him on their VIP list because he was overwhelmed by the loud environment and all the larger dogs around him. He spent his time crying—not because he was aggressive, but because he was scared and seemed to be wondering, Why am I here, and can someone please get me out? Its a feeling most of us can relate to. Thankfully, the shelter reached out to CRT, a foster stepped up, and Marty got the fresh start he deserved. We are so grateful they did because he has turned out to be an absolutely terrific little companion.

Marty is a devoted little shadow who always wants to know what youre up to. Hell happily follow you from room to room to make sure he doesnt miss a thing, then settle right beside you on the couch for some quality cuddle time. During the workday, he enjoys snoozing in a dog bed in his foster moms home office, perfectly content just being near his person. At bedtime, he puts himself in his crate and sleeps quietly through the night. Hes also an expert snuggler who loves burrowing under pillows and blankets whenever he gets the chance.

Marty is doing great with his potty habits and will let you know when he needs to go outside. Because he was neutered later in life, he developed a habit of marking indoors. He currently wears a belly band while inside, and weve already seen a significant decrease in marking since his neuter. With continued consistency and patience, we expect him to keep improving.

When its time for an adventure, Marty is a superstar! He walks beautifully on a harness and leash and enjoys exploring the world by your side. His extra-long, lanky legs give him an adorable look thats impossible not to smile at.

Playtime is another favorite activity. Marty loves toys, especially anything that crinkles, and its always fun to watch him proudly carry his favorites around.

Marty is approximately 4 years old, weighs just 912 pounds, and is fully grown. His beautiful tan coat with white markings only adds to his charm.

If youre looking for a loyal little companion who will happily keep you company while you work, curl up beside you on the couch, burrow under the blankets, and politely ask to be picked up with the sweetest little bark, Marty is ready to steal your heart.

Application details:

Marty is being fostered in the Dallas, Texas area.
