Martin's Story

PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT MASSPAWS. SEE CONTACT INFORMATION BELOW FOR THIS SPECIAL PUP.

Meet Martin! If you are looking for a dog with comedic skills, Martin is your guy. For starters, he sits like a human, watches TV, and follows the Phillies during baseball season.

Martin is a 2-year-old, 50-pound terrier mix. Sweet and goofy, he loves snuggling, car rides, and making people laugh. He’s also very athletic and makes a great hiking and jogging partner.

Martin was found on the streets and scheduled to be euthanized due to overcrowding at the local shelter. Fortunately, he was rescued in the nick of time and is currently in a temporary foster home in Philadelphia.

This very affectionate Velcro boy is looking for a home away from the noise and commotion of the urban environment. He is much more at peace in the suburbs or a rural area where he could have a yard.

Martin has been working with a professional trainer for six months and loves learning and obedience training. He knows basic and intermediate commands. He would love having a pet parent who can keep up his training skills. He not only enjoys confidence-building games and activities, they benefit him, too!

Martin is a big lover. He feels the need to protect his foster mom and therefore is reactive to strangers when around her. He is fine when others are handling him and his trainers think he is a wonderful dog. He is incredibly loyal and affectionate when given time to meet new people.

Martin will benefit from a new person who will set him up for success from the get-go to prevent any protective behavior from reoccurring. He has proven his ability to forego the drama! In return for helping him be his best, he will bring out the best in you!

His new family may have older kids. Still young and rambunctious, he’s not the best match for little ones. Martin loves other dogs and would like living with a resident dog who also loves to play. However, he has not been exposed to cats.

He is house-trained, crate-trained, up-to-date on shots, and neutered. To be the last stop on Martin’s rescue journey, please contact his foster mom: alexandrademucha@gmail.com
Please tell her Animal Rescue Konnection sent you!
