Marshall's Story

Meet Marshall 💙

Marshall is a 5-month-old Cocker Spaniel with the sweetest spirit. He is deaf and visually impaired, and we’d love to share what that means for him.

Marshall relies on his humans and canine companions for guidance. He loves being close — often touching someone — because it helps him feel secure and ensures he doesn’t miss out on the fun if you leave the room. He thrives with other dogs and looks to his furry friends for cues, like when it’s time to head back inside. Because of this, Marshall would do best in a home with another dog and a securely fenced yard.

Marshall is not blind. He has what’s called a “third eyelid,” which appears as a small piece of skin in the inner corner of his eye. Our vet is hopeful it will retract on its own over time. It doesn’t slow him down and doesn’t require any special accommodations.

While Marshall is deaf, he truly acts like a typical puppy — playful, curious, and just a little mischievous. He loves a good wrestling session before bed and then sleeps soundly from around 9–10 p.m. until 7 a.m. He’s still working on potty training but is doing well with crate training.

At this time, we don’t believe Marshall would be a good fit for a home with cats, as he does enjoy chasing them.

If you think your home might be the perfect match for this special boy, we’d love for you to fill out an application and learn more about him. 🐾
