Marnie's Story
Marnie came into the shelter as a 8 month old pup last June with an embedded collar. Six months later, she's been surrendered to the shelter and her neck has healed up just fine.
I've been spending time with her since last summer, and I've gotten to know her quite well. If I could have one Christmas wish, it would be a good home or foster placement for this sweet, hilarious, affectionate, mischievous girl.
Despite living in a kennel for more than half the year and almost half of her life, Marnie is a ball of pure, unbridled joy. She has a way of always, always finding some crazy-silly way to make you laugh.
Marnie has probably never spent much time inside a home. Consequently, she will probably need some housetraining. However, *this girl is whip-smart* so I think she'll grasp the concept in no time.
Things Marnie loves: playing with water (splashpool, chasing the hose, muddy puddles, you name it), playing fetch, tug-of-war, sticks - the bigger the better!, *treats*, other dogs that can match her energy, and anything that will get her some attention. Again, she should be easy to train. She is VERY eager to please.
She is high-energy but also choc-full of love. I think she would do GREAT with a family with another dog and/or dog-savvy kids that could tire her out playing. Or maybe an active person that wants a running buddy.

You can read more about this dog and check out additional photos here: https://www.accgov.com/9482/Dogs

The adoption fees, shelter schedule, a description of the rescue and adoption process, and a list of included vetting can be found at https://athenspets.net/adoption-rescue-process.

This dog is available for adoption through Athens-Clarke County Animal Services, located at 125 Buddy Christian Way, Athens, GA.
