Marlowe Jean's Story

Dog Name: Marlowe Jean

Breed: French Bulldog

Sex: female

Age: 5 yo

Weight: 28 lbs

Medical Needs:

Marlowe Jean has been treated for Lyme disease and Ehrlichiosis...both tick born diseases. She also came into rescue with numerous sores from presumed allergies. She is all healed up from that but may require allergy treatment in the future. Currently doing well without any meds though. She also has a very small tail pocket which will require periodic cleaning.

Housebroken: Yes

Crate trained: Yes, she does great in her crate. Marlowe Jean will chew on her bones and nap.

Good in the car: Yes, she is a great copilot and wants to be up front to insure that she doesn't miss anything.

Good on a leash: Yes, she gets very excited at times, and may pull on her leash, so using a prong collar helps keep her from pulling.

Energy level: medium

Need a fenced in yard: no

Dog Friendly: Dog Selective

She lived her whole life in a home with 3 other dogs. She is very “in your face” with other dogs to initiate play. Marlowe Jean, is fostered with other dogs, but it has taken time for them to warm up to her. Marlowe Jean is not a fan of dogs, larger than she is and as she is an in your face girl, she takes a while for smaller dogs to warm up to. Marlowe Jean would love to be an only dog!!

If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes?

No

Cat Friendly?

Marlowe Jean believes cats are made for chasing!! So, Marlowe Jean would not be suited for a home with cats.

Kid Friendly: Yes. She will bark at anyone new...young or old.

If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Kids old enough to give her space at first until she warms up. Marlowe Jean is a rough and tumble little girl, so kids need to be old enough not to be knocked down.

Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Marlowe Jean is a sweet and playful little girl. She loves it when I pretend to “get her” while she darts back and forth on the sofa. She also loves her bones, and after getting out her zoomies, she will lay down somewhere comfie to chew on her bone.

Location: Harrington, DE

Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app
