We're asking for your help in finding an extraordinary home for Marlow.<br/><br/>He was adopted from Jessamine Humane Society in February by a wonderful family who absolutely adores him. They have given him so much love, but recently their world changed when Marlow experienced two grand mal seizures.<br/>After being evaluated by a board-certified veterinary neurologist, Marlow was diagnosed with epilepsy. He has started treatment with Keppra Extended Release and is doing well under excellent veterinary care.<br/><br/>The difficult part comes after a seizure. During his post-ictal recovery period, Marlow temporarily loses his vision, becomes frightened and disoriented, and can react defensively until he fully recovers. Because his family has young children who may not recognize the warning signs or know how to safely respond, they made the heartbreaking decision to find him a home better suited to his needs.<br/>This was not a decision made lightly. It was made entirely out of love—for Marlow and for their children. We are incredibly grateful for the compassion and responsibility they've shown throughout this process.<br/><br/>Marlow is currently safe in the care of a family member who is an experienced emergency and critical care veterinary technician with extensive experience caring for seizure patients.<br/><br/>Now, let's talk about who Marlow really is.<br/>-He's approximately 14 months old. <br/>-He absolutely loves other dogs<br/>-Chasing a ball is one of his favorite things in the world<br/>-Stuffed toys, ropes, puzzle toys, sticks... if it's a toy, he loves it. He even picks one out to take to bed with him every night.<br/>-He's incredibly food motivated, making him eager to learn and easy to train<br/>-He's fully housebroken and crate trained<br/>-He has completed Levels 1 and 2 obedience training through Bluegrass Dog Training Academy<br/>-Most of all, he loves being wherever his people are. He's affectionate, goofy, and does everything with the enthusiastic spirit only a doodle can have. He'll make you laugh countless times every single day.<br/><br/>Marlow is looking for a home **without young children** that can provide:<br/> His medication twice daily at consistent times (approximately $37 per month through Costco Pharmacy, though it can be filled at any pharmacy)<br/> Continued veterinary care<br/> Patience, understanding, and lots of love<br/><br/>Epilepsy doesn't define Marlow. It's simply one part of who he is.
