Marlin

Sit down anywhere near Marlin and he will come over for a snuggle, and he will stay for as long as you let him.

Marlin is a pit shepherd mix, male, three years old. He is white from nose to tail with a black patch over one eye, a black ear, and a pink freckled nose, and he wears the same wide open grin in nearly every photo anyone takes of him. He is house trained, neutered, and up to date on his vaccines.

He is a confident, affectionate dog. He meets new people easily, he is glad to be greeted, and once he has said hello he would rather be snuggled up next to you than anywhere else in the room.

He already knows sit and he is very treat motivated, which is the combination that makes the rest of training easy. Anything you want to teach him, you can pay him for.

He is good with kids and very dog friendly. He is comfortable in the company of other dogs, so a home with a resident dog is a real advantage for him and not just something he can put up with.

Marlin does not need much. Steady people, a dog friend if you have one, a pocket full of treats, and a spot on the couch next to you.

He has not been around cats that we know of, so we cannot tell you how he would do living with one.

We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 4pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability.
