Marley's Story
Sweet Marley is a returned adoption with a story that tugs at the heart. She originally left CCHS as a puppy, which makes her return even harder for all of us who remember her as a little one.

When Marley was brought back, we were told she was “the worst dog ever” — but that couldn’t have been further from the truth. What we quickly learned is that Marley is a wonderful girl who simply needed patience, guidance, and love.

She came back a bit overweight, but with regular walks and care, she’s now in fantastic shape and thriving! Marley enjoys going on walks and has joined our volunteers for our 1.5-mile hike many times. Her leash manners have improved so much since her return, and she’s a joy to walk with.

Marley is a three-year-old hound mix (though we’re not exactly sure of her full lineage), and she has that classic hound curiosity and love for adventure. She’d be happiest with room to roam, a yard to explore, and humans who will take her on fun outings.

She gets along with most dogs but would do best in a home without cats, as she can be reactive to them. Marley previously lived with children and did well — though she had a fascination with diapers (what dog doesn’t?), a little supervision around the trash can should keep things just fine.

Marley truly deserves the best that life has to offer. She’s come such a long way, and we know her perfect family is out there — one that will see her for the sweet, loyal, and loving dog she really is.
