Marissa's Story
Everyone, meet sweet Marissa. This girl's story tugs at your heartstrings. Marissa was found alone in a field with no food, water or shelter in sight, she was extremely thin and had freshly given birth to a litter of 13 puppies. She was in desperate need of help. We promptly took her and her new babies into our rescue where she allowed us to care for her while she lovingly cared for her babies. She was sweet right from the get-go and was a terrific mom. Despite her challenging entry into motherhood, she successfully nursed her entire litter – they’re all grown now and thriving and all but 2 have found their forever homes. That was 3 years ago. That's how long she has been with us. She is still waiting for her forever home; for someone to see her for the beautiful soul she is. She is loved and well cared for here, but kennel life is no long term solution for any dog. She deserves all the comfort and joy that comes from being part of a loving home where she is doted on and shown just how much there is in life to be enjoyed. She's sweet and attentive towards humans; likes to be pet and snuggled. She greets every day with a smile that just brightens our hearts. We estimate she was born early 2020. We'd love a home for her where she will receive plenty of mental and physical activity like daily walks while also enjoying downtime beside her human. She must be the only animal in the home. She weighs around 75 lbs, is spayed, up to date with vaccinations and micro-chipped. If interested in providing a home for sweet Marissa, please email us for an application at adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org

Please note we are always in need of foster homes for our dogs, Marissa included. If interested in making a difference in a dog's life, we would love to share with you what it means to be a foster parent. Foster homes greatly increase the chances of speedier adoptions and you'd be making a huge, positive difference in the life of an animal who needs you.
