Mariah of Lakewood Co's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please Note: This animal is listed as a courtesy to another organization or individual. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker for more information about him/her.Meet Sweet Mariah and hear her story.Yes. Mariah is a diabetic that gets 5 units of insulin twice a day. In addition, she had severe corneal ulcers and glaucoma from uncontrolled diabetes. Therefore, her eyes were removed due to progressive eye disease. She is blind. Mariah gets along very well with other dogs. She has been good with my dog (beagle). She has never become aggressive, barked, or growled at other dogs. Mariah is very good with children. However, because she is blind she occasionally does run into things. She is very friendly and does not mind being pet or played with.Mariah is very good in a veterinary clinic. She currently lives at my veterinary clinic due to her medical conditions. She does not bark or become anxious.Mariah is the sweetest dog I've every met. She has been through so much but has never let anything dim her light. She loves being around people. She thrives from positive vocal feedback. She loves to be pet and rubbed. She is crate trained, but if it were up to her she would snuggle with humans. She has no preference when it comes to men vs women. She loves all humans. I recommend having Mariah on leash or in a fenced in back yard because she is blind and may wonder too far if not guided where to go.For more information to give this sweet gir a home please contact Catie theilercatie@gmail.com
