We post our available dogs across the East Coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes of finding them the perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs—families must come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine, to meet and, hopefully, take their new companion home.<br/><br/>Health & Background<br/><br/>MARGO arrived in great health and is fully vetted:<br/>âœ... She's friendly, smart, and eager to please — a wonderful companion for an active family.<br/>Very good with kids<br/>Friendly and social with people and other dogs<br/>High energy, jumpy, playful, and eager to engage<br/>Seems to be house trained<br/>Knows “sit” and “shake”<br/>Rides great in the car — alone or with another dog<br/>‍âTM€ï ̧ Loves swimming — hops into deep sections and swims confidently<br/>Loves playing with the hose — jumps and chases the water stream<br/>Follows her foster dad around and is very human-focused<br/>Lives with a 9-year-old shepherd mix foster brother (Wallie) and is very respectful of his space<br/>Gives kisses as she walks past Wallie, and leaves him alone when he doesn't want to play<br/>Listens well when told “no”<br/>Handled a bath well at a self-wash grooming station<br/>Broke out of a crate once but did no damage and settled once free<br/>MARGO was originally adopted from a Texas shelter as a young pup in June 2023, but sadly ended up back in the same high-kill shelter in December 2024. Despite this, she remained sweet and trusting.
