Marceline's Story

Looking for a new home for Marceline

We’re looking for the right home for this sweet little gremlin. Marceline is a pit mix, approximately 2–4 years old, and is basically 40% dog, 60% skin, and 100% desperate to crawl directly inside your body and live there.

Her previous owner unfortunately isn’t physically able to care for her anymore, along with some housing restrictions, so we took her in hoping she could stay with us. Unfortunately, we’ve realized our home just isn’t the right fit for her long-term.

The good stuff: Marceline absolutely LOVES people, including young kids, and she LOVES playing with other dogs. She’s incredibly affectionate, silly, sweet, and wants to be wherever her people are. She’s tiny and compact with major hairless-cat vibes because she has approximately three hairs and fourteen acres of skin. Her favorite activity is being completely buried under blankets.

The important stuff: She does have separation anxiety and is currently prescribed trazodone, which does seem to help. She would likely do best with someone who can work with her on that and understands that adjustment may take some patience. She has a very nice singing voice and enjoys using it when she feels she needs attention. She also cannot go to a home with cats. She has decided our cat is her mortal enemy, and unfortunately the diplomatic negotiations have failed.

We really want to find her a home where she can thrive rather than just trying to make a situation work that clearly isn’t right for everyone. She has SO much love to give and would probably be thrilled with a person/family who wants an affectionate little shadow and/or another playful dog buddy.

If you or someone you know might be a good fit for Marceline, please message me! And please feel free to share so we can find this weird little blanket goblin her people.

This is a courtesy post, but if you are interested in meeting this pet, please head to www.pettalesrescue.com and fill out an application
