Maple

Maple is a sweet senior dog that is incredibly affectionate with everyone that she meets. Maple was impounded by a local police department after being found as a stray. After her stray hold, she was transferred to a local access shelter in Chicago. After spending about a month at the shelter, TAF picked her up and took her into our program.<br/><br/>Since with TAF, Maple has been spayed and undergone and extensive dental surgery. She has had a urinalysis and full senior blood panel, too... twice! Maple is now healthy and ready for her second chance at a new life. <br/><br/>After being in the shelter system, Maple is slow to meet new dogs. She is cautious and afraid of being attacked. When she meets gentle dogs, that give her some time to acclimate, she is as good as gold. Maple is in a foster home with multiple dogs and will go out in the yard to wander around and do her business with all of them. Right now, Maple is most comfortable exploring the yard by herself. When unbothered, she will do her business and then come inside to rest in her kennel. <br/><br/>Maple shows no signs that she should have any issues with cats but an official introduction will confirm that. Maple's behavior towards people is amazing! She wins over everyone that meets her and always complimented on her demeanor. Maple is a smart old girl and just wants to be loved.<br/><br/>As mentioned earlier, Maple goes potty outside but also, if necessary, will use the pee pad in her kennel. Now that she has her routine down in her foster home, that rarely happens. In a new home, I am sure that there will be a learning curve until she gets the routine down.<br/><br/>Maple is estimated to be around 13 years old and she weighs 11 lbs.
